Payment and Receipt Information

Registrations must be accompanied by payment (credit card, cheque or money order). If you wish to pay by cheque or money order, choose this option when registering online, and make sure your payment is postmarked by the deadline. Make cheque or money order payable to:

Receipts and session confirmations will be sent via e-mail within seven days of receipt of payment. If no e-mail address is provided a receipt can be requested at the conference.

Registration Deadlines

Early Bird Deadline

Registrations must be received or postmarked by 
April 6, 2020

If paying by cheque, payment must be postmarked by April 6 to receive the early bird rate.

Regular Deadline

All online registrations must be received by April 15, 2020 to receive the regular conference rate. If paying by cheque, payment must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2020.

After this date, online registration and payment will remain open at the full on-site registration fee of $575. Only credit card payments are accepted for on-site registration.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds for conference registration, including workshops and guest attendance, will be made only upon written notification via email (email the Registrar) received no later than April 13, 2020. No refunds will be issued after April 14. You are encouraged to find an alternate to attend in your place. All refunds are subject to a $50 processing fee.

Please note, these cancellation policies are subject to revision during the COVID-19 situation.

Guest Fee

A guest fee is charged for each non-conference participant 18 or older who accompanies a conference delegate to the Alberta Library Conference (ALC).

New this year - we have two options for Guests - one for those who want to attend the Keynotes as well!

The fee for Guest Plus Keynote will be $100.00 and the regular Guest fee will remain at $50.00.

Please note that the Guest Fee does NOT entitle guests to attend conference sessions or the keynote sessions unless they have paid the Keynote fee, as session attendance is restricted to delegates who have paid the full conference registration fee. Guests who have not registered for the Guest Plus Keynote status should leave the dining room before the keynote starts. Breakfast is available in the Moose's Nook after the start of the keynote session. For the duration of the conference (Thursday evening until Saturday night), anyone aged 18 and over must be registered as a Guest to attend events or purchase meal tickets. A Guest registration is not needed to purchase a ticket for Sunday breakfast.

The Guest Fee permits the guest to:

  • be a registered guest of the conference;
  • utilize the ALC block of rooms and meal plan at the special conference rates;
  • purchase tickets to conference meals;
  • attend all included networking events (opening reception, coffee breaks and dance), and purchase tickets to ticketed networking events.
  • attend the Author Talks; and
  • visit the Exhibits

The Guest Plus Keynote Fee permits the guest to attend all of the above, plus the keynote sessions.

Student Rate

A student is defined as a member of one of the sponsoring organizations (LAA or ALTA) and enrolled in at least 60% of a full course load in a library program.

Accommodation & Meals

Registration fees do not cover accommodation or meal costs. Delegates are responsible for arranging accommodations. You can book a room at the Jasper Park Lodge by calling the Lodge at its direct number (780) 852-3301. The regular reservation number is 1-800-465-7547. All meals are included in the accommodation rate. Book as soon as possible; rooms fill up quickly. We have arranged for discounts at several hotels in the town. Information is here.
